Monica M. Pulido

Monica Pulido's diverse European law and international business experience provide her with the unique ability to assist U.S. and multinational companies establish a presence in the European Union.  Additionally, she regularly advises European enterprises and individuals on matters of Spanish Civil Law. 

Ms. Pulido received a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from the Universidat Autónoma de Barcelona, Facultat de Dret in 1997.  Upon completion of her undergraduate degree she received a Master of Law degree from the Escola Pràctica Jurídica at the Col.legi d’Advocats de Matar.  In 2000, Ms. Pulido obtained a Micro M.B.A from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.   In 2002, she received a Màster Oficial en Relacions Laborals (Master of Human Resources Management) from the Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, Spain.  Additionally, Ms. Pulido received post-graduate training in business accounting, negotiation, and labor relations.

Ms. Pulido has acquired a diverse background in business law namely management, real estate, employment and labor law, risk management, and litigation.  While in law school, she was engaged by the Premià de Dalt City Hall in Barcelona, (Prácticas Jurídicas) specializing in employment law and urban relations.  Subsequently, she worked for the Law Firm of Josep Mª Ferré, concentrating in civil and business law.  Ms. Pulido also manages Construcciones Francisco Pulido S.A. real estate holding and property management company. 

Between 1997 and 1999, Ms. Pulido was employed as a litigation attorney with the Law Firm of Enrique Terés Quiles, specializing in insurance defense litiation, representing major multinational insurance carriers such as Winterthur and Allianz-Ras.  During this time she also served as a public lawyer, Turno Oficio del Col.legi d’Advocats de Matar, representing indigent clients in civil and criminal matters.

From 1999 until 2007, Ms. Pulido was engaged as an attorney for FREMAP, Mutua de Accidentes de Trabajo y Enfermedades ProfesionalesFREMAP is a Mutual Benefit Association for Employment Injuries and Occupational Diseases operating in Spain within the framework of the Social Security Law. It is the leading company in its sector and is made up of an association of employers with the purpose of collaborating with Social Security Government Agencies on the subject of work accident and occupational disease protection.  During her tenure, Ms. Pulido provided labor relations consultancy and labor related services for companies, including human resources  management, absenteeism management, compensations and litigations of health related absences and managing end to end consequences of accidents in the workplace. She also managed documentation and compensation for serious injuries and death in the workplace. Workplace risk management consultancy for companies.

In 2007 while residing in San Diego, California, Ms. Pulido formed a joint venture with the Wenger law firm to establish an office in Europe. Now with offices strategically located in Barcelona, Spain, a major economic centre with one of Europe's principal Mediterranean ports, the Wenger law firm is poised to assist foreign investors penetrate the Euorpean Union.  In addition to representing domestic clients in Spanish civil law matters, Ms. Pulido also provides legal counsel to the Wenger law firm's multinantional clients in corporate and transactional matters in the European Union.

Aside from practicing law, Ms. Pulido enjoys traveling and the outdoors with her husband, Alex, and young daughter.  She is also an avid photographer. Ms. Pulido has lived in Boise, Idaho and San Diego, California, and is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
